THE THRIVE DIET by Brendan Brazier.
The
Thrive Diet by Brendan Brazier.
This diet is based on strong scientific facts and personal experience
- we like this part a lot!. Here is the story: the author had a goal to
become a professional ironman triathlon athlete. To achieve his dream,
he studied the training routines of his competitors and found very
small differences between all the routines.
If training discrepancies were minimal and natural talent can only
get you so far, what caused some athletes to pull out ahead of the
rest of the pack? The most significant difference I found between the
upper-echelon elites and the moderately-performing athlete had little
to do with training-it was almost all about recovery.
Breakthrough performances are hinged on the rate at which the body can
regenerate itself after training. Realizing this, quick and complete
recovery became my focus. And as I discovered, diet has the single
greatest impact on recovery. In fact, food choices can account for up
to 80 percent of the total recovery process.
Stress, cortisol and recovery
The more stressed you are, the more cortisol your adrenals produce,
the worse you sleep, the more you crave for coffee and sugar. In
addition to spoiling your sleep and making you more and more
exhausted, the cortisol also prevents you from losing weight and
actually makes you gain weight. Simply put, cortisol prevents your
body form naturally recovering.
The diet
Brendan discovered the regenerating power of fresh vegan foods through
his own experience. Because these foods are full of vitamins,
minerals, nutrients and life energy, they are very easily digested and
assimilated by the body. They give energy and help the body to
rebalance and regenerate itself at the deepest level.
The Thrive Diet primarily consists of foods that are:
- Raw or cooked at low temperature.
- Naturally alkaline-forming foods to pH balance the body.
- High in nutrients your body can easily use.
- Vitamin- and mineral-rich whole-food from non-overstimulating sources, to rebalance the body.
General guidelines for the Thrive Diet
- Consume enough natural nutrients to support your level of activity and the biological regeneration of your cells, in order to reduce aging.
- Fulfill your nutritional needs by consuming nutrient-dense whole foods, rather than supplementing with tablets.
- Stay away from denatured foods like refined, processed foods.
- Gain energy through natural nourishment, not stimulation.
- Eat efficient and easy to digest foods
- Rebalance by greatly reducing your intake of sugary and starchy
foods.
The Pros
This diet is super healthy and helps you drive your performance
(physical or intellectual) up through the roof. It will also help you
lose weight and stop your bad cravings. Finally, because it's a
regenerating diet, it will give a youthful and glowing boost to your
skin and hair.
The Cons
It's expensive and you need some exotic foods, which are not easy to
find sometimes. For the carnivorous part of the population, it may be
impossible to follow, as it's a pure vegan diet. However, if you are
concerned about the environment and want to help curb global warming,
giving up meat -at least for 12 weeks- would be a BIG and significant
contribution on your part as raising cattle and distributing the meat
is very heavy on the environment. At the same time, you will save
money! You can find out more about money saving green tips is the book

Trying
Bottom line
We really think this diet is worth trying for your beauty and your health. If you think you cannot do it exactly as stated, you can at least try to stick to it as much as possible: that would already be a big vitality boost for you.
In this time of economic trouble and high stress, The Thrive Diet can save you a lot of trouble. Give it a try. Enjoy!
